- Title: Banksia serrata, old man banksia, red honeysuckle, saw banksia
- Description: A character tree developing a thick, cork-like bark. Very large, prominent flowers are variable in colour, from yellowish-green to an orange-red colour. They are borne from mid-summer to winter. There is an attractive, ground-cover form known as 'Austraflora Pygmy Possum'. A long-lived species that is both salt wind and frost tolerant. Old bushes may form small trees of 5m in height, but a 3 - 4m dense shrub is the more usual habit.
