- Title: Grevillea Red Hooks, syn. G. hookeriana hybrid and Robin Hood
- Description: Often erroneously sold as G. hookeriana which is a quite different shrub. This is certainly a hybrid. It has been sold very successfully in New Zealand for more than 30 years as ‘Robin Hood’. The long, bright-red ‘toothbush’ flowers are produced throughout the year on a vigorous bush to 3 m high with a greater spread. It is a superb screening plant, suitable for hedging or can be clipped into a hedge. The foliage is also used in floral work. A very adaptable cultivar, ‘Red Hooks’ withstands salt winds in coastal conditions, frost and poor soils provided they drain freely. Staking may be required in exposed situations.
