- Title: Banksia baxteri, Bird’s nest banksia, Baxter’s banksia
- Description: Squat, lime-green buds of this banksia open to form globe-shaped yellow flowers atop long stems during late spring through summer to early autumn. A popular, long-lasting cut flower that also dries well, B. baxteri is heavily picked for this purpose in its native Western Australia and other growing areas, notably Hawaii where it is appropriately known as ‘Summer Lime’. The unique, deeply serrated foliage is used for floral work, both fresh and dried. Mature shrubs are generally neat and erect, growing to a height of about 3m. It is frost-tolerant to around -5 ºC, tolerates winds and is adaptable
