  • Description:  A very distinctive and handsome species. erect in habit to a maximum of 3m Thick, broad leaves have a noticeable fringe of soft hairs. Soft pink flowers have the tips of the bracts edged in rich brown fur. They do not open wide, staying curved inwards at their tops, almost enclosing the inner flower. The main flowering period is winter to spring. Both flowers and foliage last very well when picked. Tolerates light frosts. Needs well drained soils and full sun. Unfortunately, this lovely species is rarely available, mainly due to the difficulty of propagation.
