  • Description:  Metrosideros 'Spring Fire' is a selected form of M. collina which is native to French Polynesia and the Cook Islands. 'Spring Fire' is believed to have originated in mountainous areas of Rarotonga. Sometimes known as M.'Thomasii'. Forms a bushy, dense shrub or small tree to 7m. Often pruned to manageable proportions of approx 1.5 x 1.5m for gardens and amenity plantings. Has been found to be very subject to borer attack and other issues in Queensland gardens. A very attractive plant in favourable localities. Tolerant of light frost and coastal conditions.
