Email

  • Title:  Grevillea maxwellii
  • Description:  An attractive, low, spreading shrub generally growing to 1 m high by 1.5 m or more in width. More prostrate forms reach to no more than 20 cm in height and are considered to have good horticultural merit. The horizontal, branching habit gives a tiered effect that is very ornamental. Large, dark pinkish-red flowers are usually pendulous in habit and are produced from mid-winter through spring. Foliage is variable from dark green to grey-green. It is considered rare and endangered in nature but is being propagated successfully. The specimen shown here was photographed at Kings Park & Botanic Gardens in Perth, W.A. Well-drained soils are essential, and full sun is preferred. Some frost is tolerated.
