  • Title:  Eucalyptus macrocarpa, Mottlecah
  • Description:  Usually a fairly open, untidy bush, although some more compact forms are sometimes seen. Handsome, leathery, blue-grey leaves are stalkless and a distinguishing feature. The very large, spectacular, crimson flowers are the largest of any eucalypt and are borne over late winter into early summer. They are preceded by striking, large blue-grey buds. This is a native of Western Australia and s best grown in drier, warm climates with well-drained soils. Tolerant of light frosts. Prune regularly to retain a compact shape. May reach 5m in height with a broad spread if left unpruned.
