Protea Frosted Fire - a P. neriifolia hybrid

Email

  • Title:  Protea Frosted Fire - a P. neriifolia hybrid
  • Description:  An Australian-raised hybrid, this lovely cultivar has been grown for approximately 15 years by gardeners in various parts of the world including Australia, New Zealand and California with very good results, the bush proving reliable and trouble-free. The rich, pinkish-red flower heads have silvery tips with a wine coloured centre. These are carried on good stems during winter and spring on a bushy shrub to 2.5 m. Pruning after flowering will encourage a compact habit. Frost hardy to at least -3 ºC when established, this protea is suitable for picking purposes and forms a lovely garden plant in sunny, well-drained positions.
