- Title: Cannamois virgata, bell reed, rekoala
- Description: A fast-growing, clumping, reed-like plant native to South Africa's Cape Peninsula. May reach 2m or more and form a wide clump to 1.5m. The very ornamental, bamboo-like stems are a feature and are sometimes used in floral art. The brown seed-heads are also used in floral work. Well-drained, rich soils suit best and full sun is a requirement for success.Tolerant of light frosts. Our images were photographed at Akaroa, on New Zealand's South Island.
