Buckinghamia celsissima - Ivory_Curl

  • Title:  Buckinghamia celsissima - Ivory_Curl
  • Description:  A distinctive species widely used in amenity plantings in many parts of Australia, especially in its native Queensland, and as far south as Melbourne. The neat growth habit lends the tree to street plantings where the relatively upright growth requires little pruning and the roots are non-invasive. In nature, especially amongst other trees, B. celsissima may attain heights of 30 m but under cultivation it rarely exceeds 10m. Trees become virtually smothered in the pendant, 20 cm long, creamy-white racemes of flower during mid-summer, particularly over January, and provide a spectacular, sweetly scented display.
