  • Description:  Originally this delightful hybrid was named ‘Bridal Gown’ but subsequently re-named ‘Shady Lady White’ in Australia by the wholesale nursery producing and marketing it. It is sold under the original name ‘Bridal Gown’ in New Zealand and elsewhere. The pure, white flowers open in spring from greenish buds and have particularly large bracts which are probably the source of the original name ‘Bridal Gown’. In Australia this cultivar has tended to be promoted more than ‘Wirrimbirra White’ which was the first white cultivar to be named and marketed and confusingly was also sold as ‘Shady Lady White’.
